Is This For You?
Who this weekend is for
Who shows up
Most of your week runs on someone else’s timeline. Their deadline, their decision, their anxiety that can’t wait until Monday. You’re good at absorbing it. You’ve built a way of working that handles the demand without breaking visibly.
The problem isn’t the output. It’s that very little in the calendar is actually yours.
This weekend is.
No prerequisites
No movement experience. Functional, not performative. Adapted to your body.
No hiking fitness. Guided route at your pace. Not a trail run.
No retreat experience. Clear schedule, defined programme. Not an open-ended process.
Who leads this retreat
Xavier de Beauffort
I’m not a full-time teacher. I have a career, deadlines, and a calendar that fills itself without asking permission.
Yoga isn’t my escape from that. It’s what keeps me functional inside it. I’ve been hiking and climbing across three continents for over ten years while working a demanding job. These retreats are what I actually do to manage the load.
800h certified. Hatha and inversions specialist. Engineer by training. I teach movement, not spirituality.
I’m not selling a lifestyle. I’m sharing the maintenance system.
800h certified · Hatha & inversions · Engineer & teacher · 10+ years outdoor practice
I’ve never done this kind of practice. Will I keep up?
Yes. Functional movement and breathwork, adapted to your body. No flexibility required. If you can sit on the floor, you’re qualified.
How fit do I need to be for the hike?
Walk at a comfortable pace on mixed terrain for a full morning and you’re fine. Not a trail run.
December in the Ardennes. Won’t it be cold?
2–8°C. We practice in the heated main living room of the villa. Oak floors, floor-to-ceiling windows. The hike happens in whatever the Ardennes gives us. Full gear list before arrival.
What’s the phone policy?
There’s signal at the villa. You probably won’t want it. No policy. Your call.
Is this a spiritual retreat?
No. No chanting, no ceremony, no Sanskrit. Movement, fresh air, and 48 hours without a screen.
